Diana’s Journey to Healing Through Touch

My journey into massage therapy began in 2008, following the loss of a loved one. That experience ignited a deep curiosity about how touch could support not only those in transition but also their loved ones navigating grief. I was drawn to explore the connection between the body, emotions, and healing, leading me to discover the profound power of massage as a tool for release, renewal, and deeper understanding.

I received my initial massage training at the San Francisco School of Massage, earning certification in Therapeutic Swedish Massage in 2007, along with specialized training in "To Touch Those Who Are Dying." I later continued my studies at McKinnon Body Therapy Center in Oakland, focusing on Acupressure, Shiatsu, Craniosacral Therapy, and Acucraniatsu™. In 2024, I completed the Massage Therapy Program at Whatcom Community College, expanding my expertise in deep tissue, neuromuscular techniques, lymphatic massage, pregnancy massage, hydrotherapy, and sports massage.

I believe in co-facilitating wellness—massage is not something *done to* a client but a collaborative process that honors the unique needs of each individual. My approach blends intuitive insight with evidence-based techniques, creating a customized experience that allows space for healing, relaxation, and deeper body awareness.

Water has played a profound role in my personal and professional journey, offering a sense of stillness, buoyancy, and nervous system regulation. To join *Still Life Massage & Float*, where massage and floating are integrated for deep relaxation and healing, is an exciting opportunity to merge these practices in a supportive environment.

When I am not working, I can be found with the love of my life, my son Lief, exploring the natural world. Whether through travel, gardening, or simply being outside, I am continually reminded of the beauty of movement, growth, and connection.

At *Still Life Massage & Float*, I am honored to be part of a team that values the deep connection between mind and body. Here, we recognize that wellness is not a destination but a practice—one that invites stillness, presence, and the opportunity to release what no longer serves you.

I look forward to being part of your journey. "Don't be satisfied with stories, how things have gone with others. Unfold your own myth." - Rumi
